Summer DIY inspiration: 5 garden tables with hairpin legs

Summer DIY inspiration: 5 garden tables with hairpin legs - The Hairpin Leg Co.

As the sun makes a welcome return, we can’t wait to start enjoying time outdoors again.

To celebrate, we thought we’d combine two of our favourite things about summer – garden DIY, and lounging outside with a cold G&T. These garden tables with hairpin legs are stylish, functional, and full of character. Let the summer projects begin!

HAIRPIN LEGS: 3 ROD, 28”

Using smooth scaffolding planks, Child of Sparrow have created this neat 6-person garden dining table. Surrounded by thriving ivy, its matching white seats and hairpin legs give it a clean and simple aesthetic.

2. Garden table and matching benches with copper hairpin legs, by @aliceinscandiland

Nothing compares to the glow of copper, beaming away in the sunshine. This table and bench combo looks picture perfect in Alice’s beautiful Cornish garden. Hard-wearing and easily available, scaffolding planks are perfect for garden tables and benches. And over time outdoors, copper legs will develop a beautiful patina.

3. Herringbone garden table with steel hairpin legs, by @gcoplandpowell

Herringbone hairpin leg garden table

 HAIRPIN LEGS: 2 ROD, 16”

Hats off to Gary Copland Powell for creating this herringbone garden table – probably the best use of birch ply offcuts we’ve ever seen. Made with clear-coat steel hairpins, to protect the metal from the elements. Tagged on Instagram with: #onestepawayfromahipster

Just steer clear of snapping filtered polaroids of it, Gary, and you’ll be fine. ;-)

4. Drop-leaf table and benches with steel hairpin legs, by @xb_design

Whether you’re having a few quiet drinks, or a big family BBQ, a drop-leaf table like this one can quickly be adjusted to accommodate the headcount. With stained softwood and steel hairpins, this industrial-style dining set is both stylish and practical.

5. Reclaimed wood garden table with zinc hairpin legs, by @tgull2

HAIRPIN LEGS: 3 ROD, 28” (Zinc)

Sturdy 3-rod zinc hairpins look great with a chunky wood top. Zinc legs are highly-durable and rust-resistant, making them perfect for outdoor furniture. Complete with designer Eames chairs, this space has summer BBQs written all over it.
